Clare Preuss - Director/Co-Creator
Clare has collaborated with theatre companies in Canada, Germany, Switzerland and Uganda including: Alameda, Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland, bcurrent, BeMe, Blyth Festival, Buddies in Bad Times, Cahoots, Carlos Bulosan, Driftwood, Dynamo, Factory Theatre, FRICTION GROUP, fu-GEN, Gwaandak, Native Earth Performing Arts, New Harlem Productions, National Arts Centre, Nightwood Theatre, Stratford Festival, Sundown, Theatre Direct, Volcano and YPT. She has appeared on TV and feature films including her role as Caroline Kraft in cult classic Mean Girls. She is the recipient of Houselighters of the Citadel Theatre Award and was named outstanding director by NOW Magazine for Salome’s Clothes at Summerworks.
Darwin Lyons - Performer/Co-Creator
Darwin is an actor, producer, director and teacher. Favourite roles include Theresa Small in AmbroseTO (Single Thread Theatre), Flo in This is Not a Picnic (32Teeth Collective), MacDuff/Ross/Weird Sister in Macbeth (Theatre by the Bay), Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (Hart House), Tina in Tough (Factory Theatre/Magnetic North). She associate produced and starred in the film 9 9 . 7 % - official selection at Austin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Directing credits include: Well Born (SoCo and Truthn’Lies Theatre), Desperately Seeking Something (Toronto Fringe), Something Unspoken (Playwright’s Project). She is currently the Artistic Producer for The Paprika Festival
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Neema received a Bachelor and Masters of Music from the University of British Columbia. Recent credits include: Century Song (Volcano/A Moveable Beast), Apocalypsis (Luminato), Oil and Water (Artistic Fraud), Salome’s Clothes (Body Theatre), The Penelopiad (Nightwood), The Story (Theatre Columbus), Harlem Duet (Black Theatre Workshop), Caroline or Change (Acting UpStage and Obsidian).
Neema has been honoured to perform for the XIVth Dalai Lama, Shirin Ebadi and the Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Zoë Sweet - Performer/Co-Creator
Zoë is an actor, producer, movement and acting teacher and Co-Artistic Producer of FeverGraph Theatre Company. Zoë has an MFA in Performance from York University, an Honours B.A. from University of Toronto and Sheridan College and is part-time faculty at Sheridan College/University of Toronto at Mississauga
Maddie Bautista - Sound Designer
Maddie is Saudi-Arabian born Filipina theatre artist and musician. Recent Credits include: Melancholiac: The Music of Scott Walker (Summerworks 2015), music performance My Nightmares Wear White (Muddy Mary Project), Delete After Death at The Theatre Centre. She is a former member of Carlos Bulosan Theatre’s Tagsibol Collective. Co-founder of xlq, she collaborates to find theatrical aesthetic in pop-art, ritual and image generation. Upcoming Norelle in Plum Bomb (Paprika 2016), composition for Tartan Lady (Sundown Theatre)
Melissa Joakim - Stage Manager
Melissa Joakim is a lighting and projection designer, technician and stage manager in Toronto, Canada. She holds a BFA Spec.Hon.s from York University. Recent credits include: Lighting and Projection Design: A Side of Dreams (Paper Canoe Projects); A Soldier's Tale: Concert (Signal Theatre); This is the Point (In development with Theatre Centre's Residency Program). Yvette Nolan - Dramaturg
Yvette Nolan is a playwright, director and dramaturg. Plays include BLADE, Annie Mae’s Movement, The Birds, The Unplugging. As a dramaturg, she works across Turtle Island on projects including Little Badger and the Fire Spirit by Maria Campbell, Confluence by Raven Spirit Dance in Vancouver, In Care by Kenneth T Williams, A Soldier’s Tale by Tara Beagan, Ultrasound by Adam Pottle, A History of Breathing by Daniel Macdonald, The Glooskape Chronicles by Donna Loring. From 2003-2011, she served as Artistic Director of Native Earth Performing Arts. Her book Medicine Showsabout Indigenous theatre in Canada was published by Playwrights Canada Press in 2015. She is an Artistic Associate of Signal Theatre.
